(Best Syndication News) – Around 11,000 office chairs have been recalled because pivot pins in the control mechanism could fall out. This could cause a person sitting in the chair to fall. However, no injuries have been reported in regards to this recall. The announcement was made today by the Steelcase Inc., along with the US Consumer Product and Safety Commission (CPSC).
The chairs involved were the model 482 Series Steelcase Amia desk chairs that were manufactured between March 1, 2011 and June 6, 2011. Both the model number and the date can be found on the underside of the chair seat bottom. The chairs had different colored upholstery fabrics and were available with leather upholstery. They were sold at Steelcase dealers nationwide, including Healthy Back Store, CSN, Home Office Solutions, Office & Company and Sam Flax stores. Steelcase also sold the chairs online at www.store.steelcase.com. The chairs retailed between $350 and $700.
