Dollar Exchange Rates
The dollar was 0.45 percent lower against the euro and 0.37 percent lower against the yen (see average table below). Investors are concerned that the economy may not be recovering as fast as expected.
The Nikkei was up 1.91 percent Thursday. Shares in China and Hong Kong were higher but some European stock markets closed lower. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) closed a mere 1.51 points lower to 11,094.57.
