(Best Syndication News) Like fingerprints and DNA, people may have a nearly unique set of bacteria that live on their hands, according to researchers in the United States (see video below). Our bodies have hundreds of bacterial species just on the skin, so it made sense that they would fall off at crime scenes.
“Each one of us leaves a unique trail of bugs behind as we travel through our daily lives,” said Assistant Professor Noah Fierer of the University of Colorado in Boulder. He admits that their studies are still in the preliminary stages but bacteria may be a valuable new item in the forensic scientist’s tool box.
